But that’s just not gonna happen now. I still have boxes to unpack and pictures to hang on the wall. My cute, little apartment is too crowded. I can’t afford to take breaks! Sad, but true. O my blog, though I love you, you will have to wait.
Or maybe there’s time for a brief, brief update. Bullet points will do. I’ll make a list. Here goes:
Things I’ve done in the past week:
- Said goodbye to Chicago and my friends and family there. After seven years in that cold but wonderful city, saying goodbye was hard.
- Drove a 15-foot Budget truck from Chicago to Harrisburg, stopping for a night near the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. The big accomplishment: I didn’t run anyone off the road.
- Packed and unpacked a lot of boxes. Disassembled and reassembled an IKEA dresser. Visited Target three times. Learned the names of grocery stores here (Giant and Wegmans)
- I sewed, goddammit. Yep, sewed. My new wall hanging is now attached to a dowel, and I now know what a dowel is. The wall hanging looks nice on my exposed-brick wall.
- Attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Pennsylvania state senate. Also wrote an article about it.
- Discovered that my fridge does not work. My landlord will deliver a new fridge tomorrow.
It’s been an exciting, exhausting week, and now I’m ready for bed. Blogging can wait, I guess. First sleep, then work, then boxes, then blogs.
